We took a plane to the Grimsey Island, just at the Arctic Circle. We didn’t expect to stay long. They welcomed us with open arms and offered a tour of their home.
They were very proud of their lighthouse
The people on Grimsey consider this to be the marker for the Arctic Circle. Apparently some big city person put a granite sphere about a mile north of this as a tourist kind of thing.
I believe the people who live there.
Grimsey was surrounded by these dramatic cliffs. Also, fun fact, they had frisbee golf set up over the whole island.
They lose a lot of disks.
The lagoon was so captivating, I nearly missed the seals.
We had an opportunity to walk on a frozen glacial lagoon. This was our guide.

Technically this was only about a mile from our campsite. Pretty much straight up.
